Damp Proofing Specialists County Dublin
Are you dealing with a damp problem in your home? Perhaps you have noticed an unpleasant smell, mould growth, or dark patches appearing in the corners of your rooms? We are here to help.
Types of Damp
- Rising Damp: Typically travels upward from the ground and is usually a sign of a damaged DPC, or outside ground levels that are too high around the property
- Penetrating Damp: Moisture that enters from the outside and makes its way through to the interior of the building
- Condensation Damp: Excess humidity in areas such as bathrooms or bedrooms where there is insufficient ventilation to allow moisture to escape
Damp proofing identifies and resolves moisture problems within walls. Our work encompasses rising damp treatment through chemical damp-proof course (DPC) injection, penetrating damp caused by defective walls or deteriorating pointing, and the control of condensation and mould.
Where rising damp is the concern, lowering the outside ground level can make a considerable difference, as it should sit no less than 150mm below the interior floor level. In situations where this is not achievable, we recommend the installation of land drainage, French gravel drains, and tanking to the lower section of the exterior wall.
Treatment will generally involve installing the DPC, hacking off and re-plastering with salt-retardant render, and resolving the underlying source of the moisture.
Alongside our damp proofing services in County Dublin, we also provide brickwork repairs, external wall rendering and a range of additional services.
